Breguet announced the Type XX 2075 Chronographe
Overview
Breguet launched the Type XX Chronographe 2075 to celebrate its 250th anniversary, inspired by an emblematic 1955 civilian chronograph and the brand’s deep connection to aviation history. The watch pays tribute to both the watchmaking genius of Abraham-Louis Breguet and the pioneering aviation achievements of his great-great-grandson, Louis Breguet, as well as aviators Dieudonné Costes and Maurice Bellonte, who completed the first non-stop Paris–New York flight in 1930.

Design and Heritage

Both new models feature a 38.3 mm case made from Breguet gold (a proprietary alloy), matching the dimensions of the original 1955 watch. One version has a black anodized aluminium dial, nodding to the historical use of Duralumin in aircraft; the other has a solid silver dial, limited to 250 pieces, referencing the original 1955 model. The bezel is bi-directional and rotating, with numerals in black (black dial) or blue (silver dial). The straps are interchangeable: gradient black calfskin for the black dial, gradient blue calfskin for the silver dial. The transparent caseback features a hand-engraved depiction of the Breguet 19 aircraft and the route of the 1930 transatlantic flight.
Movement and Features

The watches use manually wound variations of the high-performance 5 Hz Breguet calibre 728, first introduced in 2023.
- Black Dial (Calibre 7279): 15-minute counter at 3 o’clock, small seconds at 9 o’clock.
- Silver Dial (Calibre 7278): 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, small seconds at 9 o’clock, tachymeter scale.
There’s a flyback function in the watch as well. This allows the chronograph to be reset and restarted instantly with a single press, a feature historically valued by pilots. This also has a power reserve of 60 hours and is water resistant to 5 bar.
Special Details

The black dial is subtly marked with “Al” (aluminium) between 7 and 8 o’clock; the silver dial is marked “Ag925” (silver). The hour and minute hands are in Breguet gold with beige luminescent paint; chronograph hands are gold (black dial) or blued steel (silver dial).
