Arnold & Son Announces the Time Pyramid with a New Case

Arnold & Son has reimagined its classic Time Pyramid collection with an artistic touch, presenting a watch with a striking new case design. The 42.5 mm diameter casing is available in red gold or platinum, complemented by a case back of blue aventurine glass and a white opal minutes circle. These precious materials echo in the rim colors of the hour and minute dials, highlighting the collection’s luxurious appeal.

The Time Pyramid’s design eliminates traditional linear or cyclical time concepts with a vertical display. This design pays homage to 1830s fashion and British horological tradition, with a movement arranged in a vertical column rather than the typical circular placement. This unconventional design reaches new heights in watch aesthetics.

Without a full dial, the watch reveals a skeletonized pyramid-shaped movement, reminiscent of an anchor and nodding to the company’s naval watchmaking heritage. Unique features include the crown positioned at 6 o’clock and a symmetrical design that borders on the baroque.

The case back is not merely a functional part but a statement piece made from aventurine glass, a first for this material in watchmaking. The glass is studded with copper inclusions, a sparkling result of Venice’s famed glass-making accidents.

Arnold & Son’s use of aventurine glass creates a captivating display of light and shadow on the Time Pyramid. The watch’s dial also plays with light, featuring gold-plated and anthracite finishes and Côtes de Genève stripes that highlight the symmetry of the design.

The Time Pyramid’s movement is a visual masterpiece. Its arrangement is showcased by the case’s wide opening and slim bezel, with the gear train and balance wheel artfully presented. The movement, encircled by a white opal ring, splits to reveal two power-reserve indicators and the A&S1615 calibre, which boasts a 90-hour life without rewinding and is entirely developed in-house.
