Breguet Announces the Marine 9518 and Marine Chronograph 5529

Breguet announced two new watches in the Marine collection, the Breguet Marine Chronograph 5529 and the Breguet Marine 9518. One has a sunburst blue dial, reminiscent of the deep ocean, while its counterpart features a silver-toned dial, like foamy waves crashing against rocks.

Diamonds surrounds the watches to mirror sunlight sparkling on water. Eight stones replace some hour markers on each dial, while the bezel shimmers with 50 more. True to Breguet’s legacy, several iconic design elements are present. The face features faceted gold hands, luminescent and showcasing the brand’s signature open-tipped style. The tip of the second hand takes the form of the letter “B,” referencing the maritime code’s “Bravo.” The crown at 3 o’clock boasts the wave shape, a hallmark of the Marine line. Finally, the caseband displays the brand’s signature fluting, a detail cherished by founder Abraham-Louis Breguet for its elegance and functionality. This distinctive motif not only enhances the watch’s beauty but also provides a better grip.

Crafted from steel, these models come on a bracelet that mirrors the watches’ dual nature. Both polished and satin-brushed finishes are employed, reflecting the meticulous attention to detail. The bracelet’s suppleness ensures a comfortable fit, while the triple-blade clasp adds a touch of sporty chic.

A powerful heart beats within the 33.8mm stainless steel case. This 50-meter water-resistant haven houses 187 meticulously crafted components that comprise the self-winding 591A movement, boasting a 38-hour power reserve. Breguet’s in-house caliber is both robust and remarkably slender at 3.4mm. Precision reigns supreme thanks to a cutting-edge flat balance spring and a Swiss lever silicon escapement. Expanding the Marine Collection’s chronograph repertoire, these timepieces embody Breguet’s beloved design heritage. Offered in white or rose gold, the sporty additions boast a deep blue dial adorned with wave motifs, meticulously hand-guillochéd within the Manufacture. The dial’s captivating ocean hue is accentuated by the brilliance of eight baguette-cut diamonds nestled along the chapter ring. Luminescent hands and Roman numerals further enhance this radiant effect. Functionality meets elegance with three chronograph counters for 30 minutes, 12 hours, and 60 seconds, positioned strategically at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock, respectively.
