IWC Schaffhausen Welcomes F1 Driver George Russell in the Melbourne Chadstone Boutique
Ahead of the Australian Grand Prix, IWC Schaffhausen welcomed F1 star George Russell to its newly opened boutique within Melbourne’s Chadstone Shopping Centre. Attendees mingled over champagne and canapes while engaging in a personal discussion with Russell about the concept of “performance.” The racing champion shared insights into his memorable F1 experiences, his relationship with IWC Schaffhausen, and his goals for the upcoming season.
Russell’s career with the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team began in 2022. Coming from England, Russell enjoys impressive F1 accomplishments, including 11 podium finishes, his inaugural Pole Position secured at the Hungarian Grand Prix, and his maiden victory at the São Paulo Grand Prix.

Russell showcased the IWC Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 (IW388306). IWC’s latest Pilot’s Watch Chronograph collection debuted in anticipation of the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix, honoring IWC’s continued role as the “Official Engineering Partner” to the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team.

This momentous event also premiered the new Performance Chronographs in the boutique. Crafted from titanium and Ceratanium® (Ref. IW388305 and IW388306), the Performance Chronograph AMG expertly fuses IWC’s chronograph mastery with modern materials. Their hallmark lies in the ceramic bezel fitted with a tachymeter scale, allowing the measurement of average speed over distance. Sleek aesthetics are achieved through black dials with a lustrous finish, recessed totalizers, and Super-LumiNova-filled applied numerals and indices. Every model houses the IWC-manufactured 69385 calibre and have a 10 bar water resistance.
