Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph Watches of Wonders 2023

The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Chronograph is one of the watches released on the Watches and Wonders 2023. There are a couple of reasons why this is an exciting release.

First, it’s a chronograph Reverso which is quite rare. A JLC enthusiast would notice this looks similar to the Calibre 829 Chronograph Movement from JLC in 1998. This is the case as the calibre 860 was based on that movement. For example, the 829 has a Retrograde 30-minute counter which the calibre 860 has. Second, a skeletonised case back is uncommon for a Reverso.

I was impressed with what I saw in my short time with the watch. The combination of pink gold with the black dial is an endless classic. The colour paired with a Reverso gives you two watches in one. On one side, you get a beautiful, simple two-hander on a sunray-brushed dial and dauphine hands, perfect for any special occasion.

On the other side, you get a skeletonised movement that’s sporty, casual, and still with dauphine hands.

The strap is a black calfskin leather tone-on-tone by the Argentinian polo bootmaker Casa Fagliano. This collaboration reconnects the reverso to its polo heritage.

The case is a Pink Gold 750/1000 or 18 carts. It has a water resistance of 3 bars or 30 meters. This watch has a measurement of 49.4mm x 29.9mm, making this quite a tall watch. The strap has a quick release which can turn this watch into a “strap monster”, as they call it.

The Pink Gold version is boutique exclusive. In Australia, the 2024 allocation has already been exhausted, meaning anybody who wants one will wait until 2025 or if somebody decides to cancel their interests. The watch retails for USD 38,800, GBP 37,400 or AUD 62,500.
