OMEGA premiers the new Speedmaster Super Racing
Update: The Speedmaster Super Racing has now been announced and it would be the first watch to feature the new Spirate System.
Discover the first watch in the world to include OMEGA’s Spirate™ System, with a revolutionary new spiral that allows for ultra-fine rate adjustments to achieve certified precision of only 0/+2 seconds a day. Look closely. This visual tribute to OMEGA’s 2013 anti-magnetic masterpiece offers a clear view of the new mechanism through the sapphire crystal caseback.
One would immediately notice the similarity with the Aqua Terra > 15,000 GAUSS as this pays tribute to it.
There are five notable features that OMEGA noted on its website.
Spirate™
A new patented system that allows ultra-fine turning.
Pattern and Colour
The honeycomb pattern sandwich dial is taken from a concept watch that survived a staggering 160,000 GAUSS. The black and yellow accents were taken from the 15,000 GAUSS Aqua Terra.
Yellow Super-Luminova
The black arrowhead indexes are filled with the super-luminova.
Bezel
The bezel is made of black ceramic with yellow “grand feu” enamel.
Tribute 10
The date window at 7 pays tribute to the 2013 Aqua Terra. The number 10 has a unique font to symbolise the 10th anniversary.
